Nine people just followed me on Instagram. I should be excited, jumping up and down. Instead my first thought was I wonder if any of them will still be following me tomorrow.
I don’t get why it’s a thing but the world is filled with fake followers. They follow you in the hopes that you will follow them back. Then a day or two later they disappear.
For a while I tried to play the game just to see where it got me — that may be part of my 1,000+ Twitter followers — but now I don’t care. Especially on Instagram.
There I want real followers. People who like my photography and want to support me. I’m trying to build a following of people who like my work. Is an egg account ever going to order a print? Absolutely not. For the time being I just hope I can add followers faster than I lose them.
