The new Economist rankings are out and Calgary is in fifth place. We usually do quite well on the Economist list because they value things like stability, healthcare and education as opposed to just the quality of the urban environment. It’s a much more conservative ranking that the one done by Monocle, which Calgary is unlikely to ever be included in. Maybe in three or four C-Train lines and after the train to Banff opens but not for a while. It’s telling that Canadian where Vancouver is the only one that ever makes the Monocle one.
